Imagine Krishna and Mihir’s Madison engagement session was a TV episode. I would title it The One where Mihir Learns to Paddle a Rowboat, or The One with all the Funny Stories, or The One with the Prettiest Sunset or something in the style of their favorite show, Friends.

I don’t even know where to begin when talking about Krishna and Mihir and their engagement session. We met at Wingra Boats in Madison to create beautiful images that reflected their time in  the city and their love for the outdoors. We also wanted to preserve the fun moments and excitement they have together. I am so in love with their photos and the two of them. They are adorable together without trying, especially when they are teasing each other and talking about their love story. According to Krishna, Mihir is a terrible gift giver and admits it. He gave her an OSU snuggie for Valentine’s Day (adorable pics below), a tiny terrarium for her birthday, and even took her to Chipotle for their anniversary, and so on. However, he makes up for the silly gifts with romantic ones, including Tiffany’s jewelry and an amazing proposal.

Mihir planned to propose two times in Madison on Lake Monona before it actually happened in Ohio. Wisconsin weather can be so unpredictable and he wanted the moment to be perfect. Krishna owns a dance studio in Ohio, Studio Mayuri, that is important to them both. Mihir decided to incorporate the dance studio and her students into a beautiful proposal. He facetimed with the students and created a plan to propose during a dance practice. Mihir arrived early, received the signal from the students, and got down on one knee behind Krishna, while her students kept her distracted. Normally I hear all of the proposal details from my couples, but this time I was able to see the entire proposal. Krishna records all of the practices for her students and now has her proposal recorded. It was so beautiful to watch and see the surprise and excitement in Krishna’s eyes. Plus all of the students were cheering and clapping.

Krishna and Mihir’s love story is serendipitous. The two met at a Cinco de Mayo house party in college over five years ago and realized they both went to the same preschool together. Fate also pushed them together on their first date. Mihir asked Krishna out to lunch, which she obviously accepted. She didn’t realize they would end up at Subway and she would be paying. It turns out he asked a bunch of friends to lunch to waste some time before an interview. Krishna was the only one who could make it and thought it was a date. She didn’t find out about the other friends bailing or the interview until a few months ago. I know that amazing things are in store for these two and their wedding is going to be a reflection of that.
