A behind-the-scenes look into our business and life featuring posts about the lovely couples we get to work with, beautiful weddings we are privileged to photograph, tips for planning your wedding and preparing for your marriage, things we are passionate about, fun projects and more!
Kristina and Shawn are an amazing couple that I was honored to work with. Their original photographer cancelled on them 30 days before their wedding (YIKES! PANIC!) and were thankfully referred to me through another photographer. I met with the couple a few days later and everything started coming together. I photographed their engagement session two weeks later to get to know the couple. Kristina and Shawn love to laugh, so I knew we were a great fit from the start.
My husband/assistant and I arrived at Kettle Moraine Ranch early for Kristina and Shawn’s wedding. I remember coming to this place once as a child to go horseback riding on a field trip. The setting was magical and very fitting to their country chic style combining rustic elements and glitter.
Kristina prepared for her day and waited for her first look with dad, while Shawn joked around with his boys and anxiously waited to see her. The moment Shawn saw Kristina enter their barn wedding ceremony, he was grinning from ear to ear and you could tell how excited he was to marry her. The ceremony was short and sweet, but filled with laughter and wisdom. Not only is this couple amazing, but all of their family and friends kept us laughing. The wedding party was a riot to photograph with impromptu posing and hilarious stories. They also kept the guests laughing with amazing toasts, especially the one by Kristina’s father.
The evening ended with a cake in the face, impressive dance movies, a gorgeous sunset, and continued love. I feel honored to have met Kristina and Shawn and wish them an amazing future!
