Knock knock. Who’s there? Banana. Banana who? Knock knock. Who’s there? Banana. Banana who?
Knock knock. Who’s there? Banana. Banana who? Knock knock. Who’s there? Orange. Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn’t say banana?
I was the typical toddler, speaking random nonsense and creating memories for my family to embarrass me with in the future. I loved knock, knock jokes, especially the banana one. I started creating my own jokes that were HILARIOUS (at least to me)!
Knock knock. Who’s there? Banana. Banana who? Banana on the wall.
I don’t know why the banana was on the wall, but at three years old this was the most hilarious joke ever. I would repeat this joke to anyone who would listen, even my dog. This prompted other similar jokes, including my namesake.
Knock knock. Who’s there? Elephant. Elephant who? Elephant on the wall.
I don’t know why I loved putting things on the wall, but the elephant was always there. Other variations continued… Elephant on the house. Elephant on the stove. Elephant on the paper. I would laugh for hours on these jokes. I would even draw elephants on paper and place them around the house. Thankfully for my parents I wasn’t using crayons on the walls or the stove. I think one of my sisters even made me an origami elephant.
Jump forward to coming up with my company name. My parents reminded me of my knock knock jokes and it clicked immediately, The Paper Elephant, named so perfectly after the elephant that I put on everything as a child.
