Nancy and Jeff’s New York engagement session was amazing, so I knew their wedding would not disappoint. These two planned a Lambeau Field wedding, while living in California. I can’t imagine how difficult it was, but they perfected every detail. Nancy selected a beautiful lace gown, handmade all of the flowers (love the bouquets!), and selected the perfect accessories to compliment her custom-designed engagement ring. Jeff was dressed very complimentary in his top hat and tails, matching their ring bearer/pup Baxter.
The moment arrived for the first look in the Packer’s tunnel. Jeff walked through many hallways and road the elevator with his eyes closed, while Nancy followed behind. She could see the top hat, the tails and the excitement in Jeff’s walk, but they kept quiet. Jeff was staged and ready for Nancy’s entrance (in between tour groups) as Jeremiah and I were positioned to capture both of their expressions. It was absolutely beautiful. I don’t know what was said, but Nancy and Jeff were so happy and couldn’t stop kissing. I felt like I was watching a movie unfold in front of me.
The four of us explored the field and the bleachers, including taking a few photos in the couple’s front row end zone seats for the following day’s Packers vs. Chargers game. After the couple had a few minutes alone, we met up with their fun bridal party for photos in and around Lambeau Field. They were such troopers, as reflective bleachers temporary blinded them a few times. We ended in the Atrium, which was packed with visitors excited for Sunday’s game. We even spotted two Acme Packer fans excited to jump in for a photo with Nancy and Jeff.
The ceremony was held in the North Loft balcony overlooking Lambeau Field on a gorgeous fall day. Nancy’s grandpa walked her down the aisle, while Jeff’s mom officiated. The ceremony was so personal and intimate, with tears shed and laughter shared. It truly was about Nancy and Jeff and the lifetime adventure they are beginning. Plus, Nancy vowed to see the new Star Wars movie with Jeff!
The reception space was equally gorgeous, decorated with mercury glass, candles, flowers and photos from their engagement session. This fit the couple’s wedding style of modern and classic colors (black, white and silver) and elements, paired with an overall fun and relaxed atmosphere. The couple also incorporated their love for Harry Potter with custom chair signs. I want to get married again just to have these signs at my wedding. I love them!! Not only was the space fun, but the food was AMAZING!! Nancy and Jeff selected a tailgate package with delicious game day options, including amazing pulled pork. Most of their guests traveled far to attend the wedding, so this was a real treat for them to enjoy Wisconsin food.
Nancy’s grandpa gave one of my favorite toasts ever. You can tell how proud he is of Nancy, how happy is for Jeff to join the family, and how honored he was to share in their wedding day. I’m pretty sure all of the guests shed a tear or two. Kate and Mark also gave great speeches and shared in on fun moments with the couple. The evening ended with great music, great company and wishes of happiness for these two.
Nancy and Jeff – I am so honored to have been a part of your wedding day. I truly felt like I was part of your family sharing in on great conversations and beautiful moments. I wish you two (and Baxter) fun in the California sun, a beautiful honeymoon in Australia and New Zealand (super jealous!), and many more adventures together.
I always ask my brides a few questions before the wedding, so here’s what Nancy had to say.
How did you know that Jeff was THE ONE for you? I don’t know that I ever had that a-ha moment that he was it. Everything with Jeff just evolved so naturally and easily. I’ve never felt that way before. I was able to just be myself and was comfortable being myself with him. I think I knew from day one that I had a keeper! What’s funny is my coworker called it from Jeff’s OkCupid profile! She said I was going to marry him before I had even met him!
What’s the most memorable moment of your wedding planning process? The week after we got engaged my best friend Kate surprised me in San Diego! She coordinated with Jeff to come visit for the weekend and to take me wedding dress shopping. We had so much fun trying on dresses!
Any tips for other brides about the planning process? My biggest tip is not to worry about anyone other than yourself and your fiance. The second you stop worrying about accommodating everyone else and just doing what you want to do – about 75% of the stress disappears.
What do you feel is the most important thing about your wedding day? I just want to enjoy the day with all the amazing people that are coming out to celebrate with us.
