Finally after six months of anxiously waiting I can share these images! Carin and Martin were married on a chilly afternoon in October. The ceremony was intimate with 12 guests, including the couple’s adorable son Jude and immediate family members. I promised to keep all of the images under wraps until after their April wedding reception. They wanted all of their guests to experience their wedding day together.
The afternoon began at the couple’s home in Wauwatosa. Carin’s mom and sister helped her get ready, Martin and Jude played with toys, and family members started to arrive. Carin and Martin’s home is a true reflection of their style and their wedding: charming, rustic, and laid-back with vintage touches and natural elements. They also incorporated their love for Wauwatosa into many aspects of their home and wedding day.
We left their home and headed for one of their favorite spots, Colectivo Coffee. Carin and Martin were extremely relaxed, laughing over memories and preparing to tie the knot. After the drinks were finished, I headed to Hoyt Park with Martin and his family while Carin met her dad for their separate arrival.
The ceremony was held near Hoyt Park bridge in a secluded spot off the trail, overlooking the Menomonee River. Martin watched in awe as Carin and her father walked across the bridge and up the aisle to him. The ceremony, officiated by Carin’s brother-in-law Michael, was personal to the couple, their journey, and their future together with Jude. Martin also did what all grooms should do: go back for seconds on your first kiss as husband and wife. It was a beautiful end (followed by cheers and laughter by their family) to a beautiful ceremony and moment in their lives.
We followed up the ceremony with family photos of the entire group, playful photos with the couple and their son, and finally a fun session with Carin and Martin. They cuddled together to stay warm, joked about Carin’s lipstick on Martin’s face, and Martin’s runny nose when they got very close. I can’t get enough of how cute they are!
The evening ended with a private reception at Le Rêve with their family. What a great way to celebrate your day with those closest to you. They also were able to relive their wedding day and celebrate with family and friends last month at their Anodyne wedding reception.
I always ask my brides a few questions before the wedding, so here’s what Carin had to say.
How did you know that he was THE ONE for you? I don’t think there is any ONE person for anyone. Our love, commitment and humor along the way is what keeps us strong. He’s my best-friend and I can tell him anything in the world.
What’s the most memorable moment of your wedding planning process? Designing my wedding ring together.
Any tips for other brides about the planning process? Keep it simple and don’t stress out about the details.
What do you feel is the most important thing about your wedding day? Celebrating our love and commitment to one another.
Leave some love for Carin and Martin. If they receive 40 comments on this blog posts they will receive a complimentary 11×14 print of their favorite image! [Comments are reviewed before posting below.]
