Meghan and Noel met in college and fell in love. She played on the women’s hockey team and he ran track for the UW-Badgers. Bucky Badger was a big part of their wedding day, making a surprise appearance at their Brink Lounge wedding reception. Not only did Bucky light up the dance floor, but he had a dance contest with one of the flower girls. Adorable.
They became husband and wife and walked past family and friends to the tune of ‘All You Need is Love’ by Lennon-McCartney. This song embodied the feeling for the entire day, which focused on moments, memories, family and love. The wedding was centered around family with many of them in the wedding party.
The ceremony was held at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Madison. The church provided a beautiful venue lit up with colorful stained glass windows and happy guests. The reception was held at the modern Brink Lounge also in Madison. The venue offered a lounge for cocktail hour, beautifully decorated reception venue, fun grand entrance down the spiral staircase, and great location near the State Capitol. My wedding was also in downtown Madison, so it was great to relieve the memories from the day.
The couple celebrated their big day on a rather warm day in February (25 degrees) and headed off to the real warm weather in sunny Hawaii for their honeymoon. I’m definitely jealous!
Erin Halvorsen of Melissa Grace Photography asked me to second shoot this wedding with her. It was a wonderful experience and she is so great to work with. She also had such sweet things to say: “Tegan did more than expected as my second shooter. She was extremely professional and got every shot I needed without asking. She really understands what is needed on the wedding day. I love working with her and you will too! I’m already planning on hiring her for a few more weddings this summer.”
I loved this moment: Meghan saying yes during part of the sermon.
This sparkling Mr. and Mrs. cake topper made the perfect setting for the couple’s wedding rings.
